She’s treating him exactly like Kakon’s girlfriend treats him when he dares to say something she doesn’t like or agree with.

Haha, I guess so xD

Kakon’s girlfriend being dismissive is actually funny in most cases. But Yasha behaving the same way towards Hisaki… I don’t know. We’ve seen them go through a lot together (somewhat violent friendship bonding, then Hasha, the vampires, Yasha’s breakdown, etc.) so to me it felt a little disrespectful? I know Yasha is not overly concerned with Hisaki’s well-being most times, but that’s mainly when she beats him up. Emotionally, she’s a lot more empathetic towards him, usually? I’m not sure how to explain it… while their chemistry was not readily apparent from the first page, by now we’re used to seeing them together. (And I like them together, actually.) They get along, she knows him, and by now she’s proven she knows him well enough to pick up on his absent-mindedness. And she’s the type to prod when people are behaving weird, right?

You’re right to a degree, and as you’ve noticed with a lot of these old pages, there’s quite a bit of iffy writing on display. That being said, Hisaki is pretty socially inept and so when Yasha dismisses him like this, it’s more of a joking “good lord my friend is so weird” statement than anything else. Furthermore, even though I make a point to show that they are besties, I also make a point to constantly show that they have poor communication. Sure, when they need help Hisaki and Yasha will support each other, but in the average situation they are just as likely to miss each other’s signals. If all that makes any sense. ^^;
